It is with great pleasure that we grant this gentleman Trials Guru ‘VIP status’.
He is a well-known figure in the sport of motorcycling.
A former Westland helicopter engineer who set up his own business, prompted by his love of motorcycle sport. Inspired by his hero the great Lew Coffin, he was responsible for the manufacture of a range of motorcycle components to the highest quality by his company, Talon Engineering Ltd of Yeovil.
He was first to manufacture a front disc brake assembly in 1971 for the Dalesman Sachs of Peter Gaunt. He also sponsored a full day at the Scottish Six Days Trial for many years, as well as sponsoring many riders from his ACU centre.
His company linked up with Mick Martin to develop the Mickmar 250cc trials engine and if fact built a complete machine, which is now exhibited in Sammy Miller’s museum at New Milton, Hampshire.
But it was Talon Engineering that brought him to the attention of the motorcycle press as the company became the OEM supplier to many of the trials motorcycle manufacturers the world over.
He is of course GEORGE SARTIN, a gentleman that is DEDICATED TO TRIAL. Trials Guru salutes you and all you have done and achieved as a captain of industry within motorcycle sport across the globe.
